Language & politics...always good for analysis and a wry chuckle. I just wrote a blog post about "vetting."

http://stevecotler.com/tales/2008/09/06/vetting-the-candidates/

In the forgettable 1999 film "Mystery Men," The Sphinx antimetabolizes incessantly:

• "Learn to hide your strikes from your opponent and you'll more easily strike his hide."
• "He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions."
• "When you doubt your powers, you give power to your doubts."

Yours is a fine blog. Exceedingly well written.

Good, insightful points.

Many (opponents I presume) mocked Palin's speech as one written by others ... or even Bush speech writers. So what ... don't they all have speech writers? ... and she did deliver it.

Thanks for the examples.
