In Africa, children are dying from diseases long eradicated in the U.S. Do anti-vaccineists really want to go back to those days? Of course not, they are happy exploiting the majority, while calling it their duty to oppose vaccines to “protect” their kids.

It is ethically unjust to benefit from the same thing that one critizes as unjust. I believe an anti-vaccine argument when all those loony moms have immigrated to Needle Bad Island, where after two generations everyone has been killed by viral and bacterial diseases.

Anti-vaccine arguments are weak, unsound and irrelevant. This campaign is just another example of what a free society has to tolerate in order to remain free.

That amount of thimerosal would be exactly 0.00 micrograms (see http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/thi-table.htm … see the column that is mostly zeros?). Is that a problem? Unless you have been living in a cave for the past five years you would know that pediatric vaccines no longer have thimerosal. Some vaccines have never had thimerosal. Ms. Jenny likes to blame the MMR, which has been used in the USA since 1971 and has never had thimerosal.

I do go in for my adult vaccines like for tetanus (I am a gardener). That one shot has more thimerosal than all of the pediatric vaccines combined. So in a sense I have completed your challenge. And so has any thinking adult who keeps their vaccines up to date.

Now, here is a thought… how about you go and tell us what real scientific research (not hypotheses!) shows that the DTaP is riskier than pertussis (which still kills about a dozen babies a year in the USA), tetanus (which has about a 10% fatality rate, and since it is soil born, there is not herd immunity for it), and diphtheria (which is a horrible disease that came back in the countries that used to be part of the USSR after it broke up and vaccine program were interrupted).

I have read some of your blogs, you seem like a well educated gal, I read your article on regressive autism, and while I did find it interesting, I wanted to point out someting that it didnt cover – kids like my son.

and HCN I am sorry to hear that your child has serious health issues. There is nothing worse to a parent than having a sick child and constantly worrying about their future.

and to be clear… before June 25 2005 I didnt believe much of this either.

at 18 months old, my son was playing with other children, had more words than children 1 year older than him, was so empathetic that his day care told us they were shocked how he would go over and try to comfort other children that were sad saying they had never seen anything like this, he had original speech, pointed, smiled, fantastic eye contact, and was actually teaching other children in his daycare how to sign for certain things (milk and eat). Then he had his dpt/chicken pox shots. He got a horrible fever, was covered with oozing open sores, and started to have episodes where he would shake, lips turn blue and his hands would turn purple and he would get deathly pale. We have medical records to document the numerous calls and dr. appointments we went to saying our son has been acting different since his vaccination, more agressive, zoning out, losing language, more babbling, his daycare commented on it as well. He started getting sick ALL the time, the “episodes” got worse and worse. The school called me to say they though his hearing my have been affected after his illness as he stopped responding to them consistenly. By 22 months we were contacted by the daycare who 4 months before told us how amazing his language and social skills were – they recommended we get him evaluated by the state as they were concerned about his marked regression after his illness. He was diagnosed as dev. delayed and then with autism.

After speaking to my pediatriton and going over the reaction my son had, as well as medical records, and family history (What we discovered is that my family has a history of vaccine sensitivity. My brother didnt walk for 4 days after his polio vaccine at age 2, my mother in law is allergic (yes allergic and I do know it is rare but it is documented) to tetnus shots) and before and after photos – I was adviced by my pediatrition and GOT A NOTE that we should not vaccinate our son any more as she believed he had an allergy to vaccines.

Does that make me a criminal? Are you advising me even after my child’s dr. said that if we vaccinate my child again – his reactions could be much more severe, seizures possibly death…I should keep going so the herd immunity can keep going? My childs death would be acceptable to you?

I marched yesterday because I KNOW that the dpt/chicken pox caused my son’s autism due to a genetic predisposition in my family – that there should be testing for genetic predisposition of vaccine allergies.

I marched so no other parent has to watch their child be ill for over a month, covered in sores, screaming in pain the middle of the night writhing in their arms due to a vaccine they had an allergy to. No child should have to indure that.

I marched because I think vaccines should be spaced out. We survived on getting 10 vaccinations when we grew up. Then we added in all these other vaccines. And no one stopped to think to test if it was a good idea to put 2 or 3 or 5 jabs of 5 different viruses and/or bacteria into a child at the same time. there is NO testing on that, no one knows if that does cause any kind of reaction.

What we do know is that autism rates are rising rapidly every single day.

The studies on both sides of this equation and yes I do go to pub med and read them – could be and have been debunked siting faulty science on both sides of this equation.

It is time to stop fighting and to get a real study together. A study that isnt funded by Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson – and on a much larger scale that what has been done.

Autism is getting worse and worse, I march so that 20 years from now, there will be no need to because autism will be gone.

Im not going to even entertain that I can sway you on your beliefs, you know what you know and obviously that is all you will ever consider…BUT, I do hope, that you will take a second and realize that regressive autism does exist, its not kids who had a few words, and didnt really socialize that much.

I had a vibrant loveing, giggly, wordy, sassy, happy boy. Who was into everything and loved his family and friends, pointed and chatted so much that we used to say “Its daddy and mommys turn”.
Then he was gone.
